Education CS George Magoha has called for a meeting on Monday at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development. The meeting is set to discuss whether schools will reopen before January 2021.

This comes after a proposal was issued by the ministry of education, for schools to open by October this year.

The Kenya Private Schools Association wants candidates to report to school  in October for three months, refresh before doing their exams in December.

Although most headteachers support reopening in October, they disagree on early exams and argue that the earliest that  examinations can be conducted in the country is end of February 2021.

If the proposal is adopted,1.7 million students will report back to school.
