The government, through the Ministry of Education, has released new guidelines to be observed in schools ahead of imminent reopening, following the outbreak of COVID-19.Education CS George Magoha unveiled the new rules on Wednesday in Kapsisisywa,Nandi county while speaking to members of the press.
Among these guidelines are that, in institutions where the student population is high, eating would be done in shifts to avoid crowding in the dinning hall. Food handlers would also be expected to wear personal protective equipment (PPEs) to promote best hygiene practices. Similarly, there would also be staggered break times to limit the number of students using toilets. In addition, Co-curricular activities would be affected, with no games, drama or assemblies allowed in schools.
