Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju has denied skipping Deputy President William Ruto’s meeting at the outfit’s headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi. Ruto visited the party’s national offices on Tuesday, September 22, after months of protracted wrangles and disagreements with top officials among them Tuju and vice-chairman David Murathe.
Initial reports indicated the DP did meet Jubilee Party officials at the head office as the secretary -general reportedly snubbed the intended meeting.
A headline by the Star Newspaper also indicated that there were those who boycotted the meeting.
Tuju, who did not meet with Ruto, dismissed the reports,saying the DP’s visit to the party headquarters was “a pleasure”. Tuju who for long has not been seeing eye to eye with Ruto who doubles up as Jubilee’s deputy party leader went ahead to welcome him for another visit.
“Your visit is always a pleasure boss. Karibu tena (welcome again),” tweeted the SG in response to Ruto’s tweet,confirming he had visited Jubilee headquarters.
Tuju also tweeted regarding the Star Newspaper’s headline,with a statement that was much of a diss to the company.
