Police are holding a 15-year-old girl after she allegedly stabbed her 19-year-old boyfriend to death on Wednesday in Nairobi’s Lang’ata area.
The two, according to neighbors, quarreled before the girl stabbed the Form 2 student two times in the chest.
The mother of the 15-year-old minor is yet to come to terms with the news that her daughter, a Standard Six pupil, had committed a murder, causing distress for a woman who at the time was unaware of her daughter’s whereabouts
Neighbors say they heard screams from the house and rushed only to find the deceased writhing in pain with blood oozing from his body.
According to them, the two teenagers have been in a relationship, with the girl frequently visiting the boy during the day. While it remains unclear what prompted the deadly quarrel, witnesses say the girl confronted the boyfriend over a conversation with another girl.
Efforts to save the 19-year-old Form Two student were futile as he was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Mary’s hospital where he was rushed for medication.
Lang’ata sub county Police Commander Gregory Mutiso confirmed the incident saying the teenage suspect is being held at Langata Police station for interrogation.
