A look at Raila Odinga’s Facebook page reveals that he indeed published the post in question.

The post was published on September 26 at noon.

A post on social media platform WhatsApp claiming that ODM leader Raila Odinga posted the same Bible verse as Deputy President William Ruto an hour apart on Facebook is FALSE.

The post in question quotes a Bible verse Psalm 133: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”

The post shows a screenshot of two similar posts but one is attributed to Raila’s Facebook page while the other one is attributed to DP Ruto’s.

According to research done by Mtaani radio news room both accounts on the screenshot have a blue badge that is meant to make those interacting with the post think the posts originate from the verified accounts of the two politicians.

The screenshot also highlights the time difference when the two posts were published suggesting that the DP published his post first and Raila followed an hour later.

Mtaani radio news room sought to establish the authenticity of the claim;

A look at Raila Odinga’s Facebook page reveals that he indeed published the post in question but it was poted on September 26 at noon.

The post was published on September 26 at noon.It reads; “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” – Psalms 133.

Happy to fellowship with the congregants at PCEA Nanyuki, Laikipia County. We pray for the health and well-being of all Kenyans and ask God to bless our nation and keep us united,”

The post also has a video accompanying it of Raila addressing congregants at PCEA Nanyuki, Laikipia County.

However, a look into the DP’s Facebook page, reveals no such post has been published.

On his Facebook page, the DP published two posts on the day the post appears on Raila’s timeline.

The posts are “Thanksgiving service at the A.I.P.C.A, St. Lorent Angaine Church – Timau, Buuri constituency, Meru County led by Archbishop Samson Muthuri,” which was posted at 11am.

The second post is a Bible verse quoting Mathew 20:26, “But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant.” — Matthew 20:26

It goes on to read, “At the Kinoru Primary School grounds, North Imenti, Meru County to congratulate The Very Rev. Canon David Muuro Nkaabu as the third Bishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya, Diocese of Meru.

Mtaani radio newsroom has checked into the claim that Raila posted a similar Bible verse as Ruto an hour apart on Facebook and finds it to be a false.
