The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has assured all aspirants eyeing various seats on the party that it will hold a free and fair nomination exercise.
Party’s National Elections Board Chairman Eng. Anthony Mwaura says they have already put in peace sufficient measures that will ensure the will of the party members is reflected.
“The aspirants have agreed that the nomination is going to be free and fair, once we finish with the nominations nobody will go as an independent party all of them will remain in UDA and help the campaigns of his excellency the Deputy president making sure that he becomes the next president of the Republic of Kenya.
And we urge to maintain what they have agreed that is our wish and commitment to the people of Uasin Gishu”.
Speaking in Eldoret during an engagement with aspirants from Uasin Gishu County, Mwaura dismissed claims that some aspirants already have certificates.
“They were really scared because There was so many rumours that some people have got certificates and we have assured them that none, nobody have got any certificate. We have not even printed ballot papers leave alone certificates We wish to be a peace setter to the other parties and we are going to make sure that our nominations will be something that will be remembered of in so many years to come. We are inviting international observes to come and witness what we are doing”
He said they are yet to even print ballot papers that will be used for the nominations set to be held mid April.
“There was fear that there will be shortage of ballot papers We have assured them that the ballot papers will be brought as per the part members list in each polling station”
UDA elections board has been going around the country to meet aspirants in readiness for the nomination.
