More than 300 aspirants vying for different political position from north rift region on Thursday held a meeting with the register of political parties ORPP. They were sensitized on a free and fair elections.

Coordinator from the office of Registrar Political Parties (ORPP) Northrift Region Hope Nandwa, said the sensitization is ongoing in the country especially in Nakuru, Nairobi, Nyeri and other regions in the country.

“We have invited more than 300 aspirants as part of ORPPs mandate to actually sensitive political party aspirants and prepare them even as we get towards the election. That is basically what we are doing and these forum is being done country wide. It’s going on in Nairobi, we also have a forum in Nakuru, we have one in Nyeri, Isiolo, Machakos, Bungoma and Kisumu”, Said Nandwa.

Nandwa added that their office has put strategies that will ensure Aspirants and Kenyans as a whole they register in parties that they love and like without being forced by anyone.

“What has come out from the forum is Froud out registration that we have been able to address as ORPP we have actually emphasized on the issue of how you can deregister yourself from a political party incase you find yourself in a political party you don’t want and one is by using the comfort of your phone by dialing *509#.You can also go to E-citizen platform and use that platform to deregister yourself and register yourself in a party of your choice”, She Added.

We also encourage you to come in our office in Eldoret at KVDA 7th floor and will be able to take you through how to do that and we also have a bulk SMS system.
These are the main achievements in ICT that we have had an office that we are trying to cure the fraudulent registration”.
