Internet users on Tuesday mid-morning detected that Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp was not working.
The platform’s mobile application and web version were not working even with a seamless internet connection, with the latter only giving a ‘Retrying…’ error message at the top-left corner of the screen.
The outage began shortly before 10.30am East African Time on Tuesday.
Meta, the company that owns WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram, is yet to issue a statement.
Users took to Twitter, as usual, to complain that the app was only allowing people to type messages to friends and then press send.
