The information that the ministry of defense recruiting persons to join them is fake.
There have been documents that have been circulating online announcing that the Ministry of Defense is recruiting people at different levels of the department.
Some of the ministry’s sectors announced as having job vacancies include, general service officers, cadets, specialists officers, tradesmen and women and defense forces constables.
The documents were seen highlighting ways to apply for the said jobs.
After conducting research, we have established that the documents are fake and they should be ignored.
Some of the evidence that shows that the documents are fake is that the ministry of defense has red flagged them through their official verified twitter account.
At the same time the ministry has issued a statement on their website. The statement read;
‘’Attention is drawn to the general public of a fake Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) recruitment exercise advert circulating on social media platforms.
Kindly note that Kenya Defence Forces is not currently engaged in any recruitment exercise and be advised that KDF recruitment exercise is advertised through the mainstream media (Television, Newspapers & Radio), through the Ministry of Defence website (www.mod.go.ke) and official KDF social media platforms (Twitter:@kdfinfo & Facebook: @OfficialKDF)
We urge members of the public to disregard such fake alerts.’’
On the other hand, the documents are dated 2021, which means they are not current.
With all the above reasons it is evident that there is not job opportunities being advertised by the defiance ministry.
