The media outlet has disowned the digital card.
This digital card shared on Facebook with a quote attributed to Kapsoit ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Paul Chirchir (Tarimbo) was not published by The Star.
The card has a quote that reads “My companies were awarded contracts trough a competitive procurement process. It is sad to note that Gov Mutai has blacklisted my 3 companies and refused to pay me Ksh 201 M.”
Accompanying the card was a caption that reads, “You sold that project to us but we refused …you are now crying we are laughing…the gov eating it’s own people.”
Although the card has the branding of The Star, it does not appear on its verified Facebook and Twitter pages.
On The Star’s Facebook page, we found a post disowning the card we are investigating.
