This post shared on Facebook by a user named Nyangonya, claiming that Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has amended university entry points is FALSE.
According to the post, KUCCPS revised the university entry grade from C+ to B plain with boys being required to get at least 62 points and girls 61 points.
KUCCPS is a state agency mandated to oversee placement of government-sponsored students in universities and other institutions of higher learning.
To confirm whether KUCCPS had made such a directive, we reviewed its official social media pages- Twitter and Facebook, but there was no such communication.
Mtaani Radio, however, found this post flagging the claim as fake.
“Advisory!! Beware of false information circulating in online forums. Information on student placement will be communicated officially through this page, the KUCCPS website and official social media pages,” the agency posted.
