This letter shared on Facebook claiming that Eldas Member of Parliament Adan Keynan has resigned is FALSE.
The letter dated 6 January 2023 and addressed to the National Assembly Speaker claims that the MP resigned from his role due to health complications and community wrangles.
‘’After much thought and deep regret I am pleased to inform you that I have made the difficult decision to resign as a Member of Parliament for Eldas with immediate effect,” the letter reads in part.
To confirm the authenticity of the letter, Mtaani Radio checked Keynan’s verified Facebook page and established that the letter is fake.
On his timeline, Keynan put out a statement disowning the letter, adding that he’ll follow up the matter with relevant investigative agencies.
“I wish to notify members of the public to consider the letter fake and disregard the baseless details as I seek to bring the matter to the attention of relevant investigative agencies to swiftly act and pursue the matter to its ultimate end,” Keynan said.
The National Assembly also flagged the letter as fake.
