The photo was taken in Malawi and not Fafi Constituency in Garissa County.

A photo shared on Twitter claiming to show a school in Fafi Constituency, Garissa County is FALSE.

The photo showing students learning under an outdoor grass structure, was accompanied by a caption suggesting that the area Member of Parliament Farah Yakub was politicking instead of focusing on development.

“A school in Fafi, instead of fighting for development,the area Mp is busy talking of nonsense about scraping presidential term limit,” the caption reads.

The photo was shared after Yakub made headlines following his remarks over a proposal on the scrapping of presidential term limits.

Mtaani Radio fact check desk performed a reverse search on the image and established that the is from Malawi and not Kenya.

It was first posted on November 7, 2022 by Malawi 24, a news outlet in Malawi.

“A school in Malawi (Chazale in Northern Malawi),” the publication posted.
