A section of Members of Parliament affiliated to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party held talks with President William Ruto at State House on Tuesday, February 7.
MPs who joined Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua for the breakfast include Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Mark Nyamita (Uriri), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), Shakeel Shabir (Kisumu East, Independent) Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o (Lang’ata), Paul Abuor (Rongo), John Owino (Awendo) and Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda.
Notably, the MPs (except Langata’s Jalang’o) are from Luo Nyanza.
Ruto’s meeting with MPs allied to Raila Odinga comes after a similar one with those from President Uhuru’s Jubilee party in January.
Elsewhere City lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has spoken over a meeting between President William Ruto and Azimio allied MPs.
According to Ahmednasir, smart politicians will always find a way to work with the government of the day.
“Smart politicians always find a way to work with the government for the betterment of their constituencies…and I know Caroli and Prof Ojienda are very smart dudes,” Ahmednasir said.
