The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened its portal for students to apply or revise their course choices. The deadline for applications is June 7, 2023.
Students can apply for placement in universities and TVET colleges across the country. 2020 KCSE candidates are eligible to apply using the 2021 cut-off points.
Government-sponsored courses are available, and the minimum entry requirement is a grade of C+. The new funding model aims to provide equal opportunities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
A total of 173,127 students will join universities, and 145,325 will enroll in TVET institutions for the 2023/24 academic year.
Funding will be based on the level of need, with scholarships and loans available to eligible students. The government has increased funding for university education, ensuring greater support for students.
Parents’ contribution is limited to 7% for university students and 20% for TVET students.
