Pastor Ezekiel Odero has received a reprieve as the court has reduced the duration for which his accounts will remain frozen from 30 days to 14 days. Magistrate BenMark Ekhubi made this decision, stating that the orders would initially have lapsed on Sunday, but since it is a weekend, he extended them to Monday.
“I will direct that you come back on Monday since the orders expire on a Sunday. I will extend the orders to Monday,” ruled the court.
The court has scheduled a mention of the matter on Monday to provide further instructions. In today’s ruling, the magistrate emphasized that he acted within the confines of the law when granting the police orders to freeze the accounts.
