The politician’s Facebook page is verified.
This Facebook page offering loans in the name of former Garissa Woman Rep Anab Gure is a HOAX.
The page ‘Cas Anab Gure Sabwow’ has 535 friends and purports to offer Inua jamii funds to interested persons.
The alleged fund ranges from Sh10,000 to Sh250,000. Prospective applicants are required to pay a registration fee in order to benefit.
A WhatsApp number has been provided for interested persons to submit their applications.
Although the page uses the name and image of Anab Gure, it is not genuine as her authentic Facebook page is verified.
Gure’s legitimate Facebook page was created in June 2018 and has over 86,000 followers.
There’s no mention of any such loans on Gure’s verified Facebook page.
Additionally, on 17 June 2023, the politician flagged the page we are debunking and asked Kenyans to disregard it.
“To distinguish the real account from the fake ones, I want to emphasize that my official Facebook page bears blue verification ticks (blue checkmarks). This indicates the authenticity of my account. If you come across any other accounts claiming to be me without those verification ticks, they are not genuine,” her statement read in part.
