FAKE: This letter on Londiani accident victim compensation is not from UDA Party

The United Democratic Alliance party has disowned the letter.
This letter shared on Facebook purportedly from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party regarding compensation of Londiani accident victims is FAKE.

The letter was posted on Facebook on 1 August 2023 accompanied by a text that reads, “Imagine Governor kula pesa ya matanga ,tabia mbaya (embezzling funeral money is a bad habit) he should resign .”

Londiani accident victims compensation has been a trending subject in the country after reports emerged alleging that money raised to support the affected families could have been embezzled.
To confirm the letter’s authenticity, Mtaani Radio fact-checking desk skimmed through the official UDA party Facebook and Twitter accounts where it shares such communications, but there was no such letter.
On 1 August 2023, the party published a statement on Facebook distancing itself from the letter.

UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala also dismissed the letter terming it fake.
