This post on X (formerly Twitter) with a photo purportedly showing Azimio la Umoja One Kenya leader Raila Odinga holding bilateral talks in the United Kingdom (UK) in August 2023 is False.
“Raila Odinga holds bilateral talks in the UK,Kenya represented accurately by Babaman..Raila Odinga nation drop handles,” reads the post.
Odinga traveled to the UK on 18th August. His spokesperson told the media that he was on a business and private tour.
By performing a Google reverse image search, Mtaani Radio established that the photo is not recent. It was shared by the former prime minister on 16 March 2022.
According to Odinga, the photo was taken while he was meeting a section of leaders from the UK.
The photo was also published by The Star and Swala Nyeti.
