This photo shared on Facebook claiming to show Raila Odinga visiting a police officer admitted at a hospital is FALSE.
The image was accompanied with a text reading “Raila Odinga paid hospital bill for the police officer who had been dispatched to target him during Maandamano .The same police who tear gassed him.Baba has a golden heart.”

To confirm the authenticity of the post, Mtaani Radio fact-checking desk did a Google reverse search and established that the photo is from 2019.

The image was published by The Star, who noted that it was taken as Odinga visited former National Super Alliance (NASA) Chief Executive Officer Norman Magaya who had been admitted at a Nairobi hospital.

A Facebook search for Raila visiting Magaya led us to posts published by ODM and Azimio TV bearing the same photo.

A keyword search did not yield credible results for the alleged visit.
