The agency has disowned the claim
This post shared on Facebook claiming that Huduma Kenya has paid pension claims for teachers and other Ministry of Education employees who retired between the years 1997 and 2007 is a HOAX.
The post was a
ccompanied with a call to action urging users to share the message widely, so that the prospective beneficiaries may have information on the purported payment.
To authenticate the claim, Mtaani Radio checked Huduma Kenya’s website, X account and Facebook page but there was no such communication.
On 21 September 2023, Huduma Kenya released a statement disowning the claim.
“Caution: Beware of Scammers! Please exercise caution before sharing personal information or responding to such messages,” the agency posted.
The claim was also flagged by the Kenya Police Service.
We schemed through Kenya’s Pension department’s Facebook account, but there was no information on the alleged payment.
We, however, found a post dated 21 September 2021 warning Kenyans against falling prey to a similar claim.
