The original video is of President William Ruto warning cartels in the sugar industry.
The video shared on Tiktok claiming that President William Ruto said WhatsApp group administrators will be taxed is ALTERED.
The post features a clip of Ruto making an address where he purportedly says that WhatsApp group administrators will start paying taxes. The audio is a narration of what was allegedly said by the President.
The video was accompanied by a caption stating, “WhatsApp Admin mmefikiwa ( your time has come).”
Mtaani Radio did a Google reverse image search on the screenshot of the video and established that the original clip was published by Capital FM News on YouTube on 31 August 2023.
In the original video, the president addresses corruption in the country, noting that those engaging in the vice have three options, go to jail, vacate Kenya or go to heaven.
He does not mention anything on taxing WhatsApp group administrators.
