This photo shared on Facebook supposedly of Kenyan Deputy President Rigathi gachagua looking through the window as President William Ruto welcomed United Kingdom Royals King Charles III and Queen Camilla is ALTERED.
The image shows Ruto introducing King Charles and his wife to Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, with Gachagua purportedly peeping through the window.
“When other powerful men are being introduced to the King, Gachagua ni kuchungulia tu Kwa dirisha (is just peeping through the window).
The photo was shared on 31 October 2023 as the king and the queen began their state visit to Kenya
Mtaani Radio performed a Google reverse image search and established that DP Gachagua does not feature in the original image.
The image under investigation was altered by adding Gachagua’s photo.
The image was also published here.
Besides, at the time the image was published, Gachagua was outside the country. He traveled back to Kenya hours after the claim was made.
