Geoffrey Ruku and Hanna Wendot Cheptumo have been sworn in at State House, Nairobi, as Cabinet Secretaries for Public Service and Gender, respectively.
The duo are the latest additions to President William Ruto’s Cabinet, following recent reshuffles.
Their appointments come in the wake of a mini Cabinet reshuffle that saw former Attorney General Justin Muturi removed from the Public Service portfolio.
Ruku and Cheptumo were vetted earlier this week by the National Assembly’s Committee on Appointments, where they were questioned on key issues related to their new roles and their previous public service records.
In a gazette notice dated April 16, 2025, President Ruto also named 14 new Principal Secretaries across various ministries.
The appointees include Dr. Jane Imbunya, Regina Akoth, Cyrell Wagunda, Dr. Caroline Karugu, and Dr. Fredrick Oluga Ouma. Others are Ahmed Ibrahim, Judith Pareno, Boniface Makokha, Prof. Shaukar Abdulrazak, Stephen Isaboke, Michel Lenasalon, Frikirini Kahindi, Carren Achieng, and Aden Millah.
