Kabete DCI Seek 14-Day Detention for Four Suspects Linked to Violent Robbery and Gang Rape

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kabete have been granted a further 14 days to detain four suspects connected to a brutal robbery with violence and gang rape incident.

The suspects appeared before Hon. Pauline Wangari Mbulikah at the Dagoretti Law Courts following their arrest across various locations, including Dagoretti Market, Kawangware, Uthiru, and Kikuyu.

According to a police report filed at Kabete Police Station on November 2, 2026, a young adult male was escorting his girlfriend home at around 6:30 PM near the Ndumbuini area when they were waylaid by five men. The attackers robbed the man of his phone, stabbed him in the hand, and forced the couple into a wooded area near Kiuru, where the woman was gang-raped. During the confrontation, the male victim managed to escape.

The perpetrators then used the stolen phone to contact the victims’ relatives, demanding ransom money via a separate mobile line and threatening to kill the woman if their demands were not met. Following the ordeal, the survivor reported the incident at Kabete Police Station and was subsequently escorted to the hospital for medical examination and treatment.

Kabete DCI detectives launched an immediate investigation, successfully tracking the mobile number used by one of the suspects to receive money from the relatives. This led to the initial arrest of the primary suspect, who subsequently led officers to his accomplices. Police confirmed that two other suspects remain at large and are actively being pursued.

Hon. Pauline Wangari granted the prosecution’s request to hold the four suspects for 14 days to allow detectives to finalize their investigations. She further directed that mandatory DNA tests be conducted and ordered that the suspects take their plea on November 25, 2026.
