Get to know your favorite presenters and other Mtaani Radio team.
We have a pool of 12 volunteers who work on a daily basis at the station. On the day to day radio activities the radio has outreach activities and its team is referred to as Organizing youth to be Alert (Oya-oya) youth group. The team is headed by the Team Leader – who is a presenter – and includes; the Team Leader station manager and departmental heads, as well as radio program producers.

Kamadi Amata
Presenter

Kamadi Amata is a highly respected and celebrated breakfast radio presenter currently hosting Amka na Mtaa, which airs every weekday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Mtaani Radio 99.9 FM, Sauti ya Mtaa. He has been part of the Dagoretti-based community radio station since its inception, building a strong and consistent media career.

Beyond presenting, Kamadi is an experienced broadcast journalist who has worked as a news anchor, reporter, and producer. He is also a freelance journalist passionate about leadership, empowerment, and mentorship, with a strong interest in promoting Kenya’s democracy, governance, health, and devolution issues. His journalism career includes covering major national and international events such as the 2007 and 2013 Kenyan general elections and former U.S. President Barack Obama’s visit to Kenya. He has also interviewed several high-profile individuals.

In addition to Amka na Mtaa, Kamadi hosts Nzembo Ya Bakolo, a music show featuring rhumba, Lingala, and classic hits, airing weekdays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Known for his strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and humility, Kamadi is energetic, adventurous, and entertaining. Off-air, he runs a consultancy firm and previously worked at Pamoja FM.

Arivisa Medreen

Medreen is a: Flexible, analytical and hardworking individual , With a practical approach to issues. Always works hard and aspire to achieve excellent results. I have commendable problem solving skills ,proven ability to manage and complete projects and programmes to highest standards with a meticulous attention to fine details. I am social interactive, and a good public speaker with quality voice projection.

Evans Kibe

Evans Kibe, popularly known as “the Ever Smiling Man,” is the co-host of Amka na Mtaa, a weekday breakfast show airing from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Mtaani Radio 99.9 FM, Sauti ya Mtaa. In addition to his role as a presenter, he is an active reporter focusing on democracy, governance, and political affairs.

Evans describes himself as an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys open spaces and nature. He has a strong appreciation for spiritual gospel music and places great value on his faith, particularly reading scriptures. Writing is another interest, though his passion lies more in spiritual reading than general literature.

Known for his hardworking nature and eagerness to learn, Evans is always open to asking questions and improving his skills. Uniquely, he stands out as someone who does not follow or enjoy sports, including soccer. His dedication to work is evident in his strong belief in the value of effort, often expressed through his faith.

Evans joined Mtaani Radio a year after its establishment and has since become a versatile team member, having filled in on nearly all shows, especially Kikwetu. He is cheerful, energetic, and reliable, contributing positively to the station’s vibrant atmosphere. Previously, he worked at Mururi FM.
