The National Assembly Departmental Committee on Housing, Urban Planning, and Public Works has conducted a fact-finding mission to Kabiria (Kwa Maji) following widespread public concern over a residential complex building exhibiting severe structural defects.

During the site visit, the lawmakers made preliminary findings on the disputed property, which has raised safety alarms among local residents. The committee emphasized that official findings and reports from the National Construction Authority (NCA) will heavily inform its final report and dictate subsequent regulatory and legal actions.
The inspection team was led by Committee Chairperson Hon. Tanui, alongside a delegation of members including Hon. Rindikiri Mugambi, Hon. Innocent Obiri, Hon. John Waluke, and Hon. Cherorot Joseph Kimutai.

The committee’s intervention highlights heightened scrutiny on building standards and safety compliance within residential estates, as authorities move to avert potential structural disasters and hold accountable any parties linked to compromised construction works.
