CoG REMOVES GOVERNOR KAHIGA AS VICE CHAIR

By Kamadi Amata

The Council of Governors has unanimously agreed to remove Nyeri governor Mutahi kahiga from his position as vice chair, following remarks made in his local Kikuyu language, allegedly celebrating the death of ODM leader Raila Odinga.

In a special council meeting held at the headquarters, attended in person by chair Ahmed Abdulahi, the whip Tharaka Nithi governor Muthomi Njuki and Kericho’s Dr. Eric Mutai, with others attending virtually, the council passed a motion of no confidence in the vice.

Consequently, the council’s chairperson governor Abdulahi has condoled with the family of Raila Odinga, insisting the remarks were not in any way representative of the council
