FAKE: This is not a photo of Wafula Chebukati wearing UDA party’s t-shirt and cap

By Michael Barnabe.

Our research revealed that the original photo was of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

A photo shared on Twitter claiming to show former IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati donning a UDA party branded t-shirt and cap is doctored.

The picture posted online on 18 Jan 2023 was accompanied by a caption that reads “Anko ShinyHead must know we might be many things but not stupid. If DCI really wanted to abduct him as his demigod claims, he could have never be found out leave alone finding out. And it then follows that he knows who killed Msando. Damnit. He participated in the saga!”

Mtaani radio fact checking desk ran a google reverse search on the photo and established that the original image is of South SAfrican president Cyril Ramaphosa.

The original photo was taken in May 2019 when President Ramaphosa was addressing a rally at Ellis Park, Johannesburg.
