Miguna has disowned the tweet. The post does not appear on the lawyer’s verified Twitter account.
This Facebook post with a screenshot of a tweet purportedly made by lawyer Miguna Miguna is FAKE.
The tweet claims that Miguna hit out at President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua over claims of poor leadership.
Ahead of the August 2022 general election, Miguna publicly endorsed Ruto’s presidential bid.
To confirm whether the tweet is authentic, Mtaani Radio checked Miguna’s verified Twitter page for any such posts on 12 July 2023, but we did not find it.
On 17 July, Miguna released a statement disowning the tweet and asking Kenyans to disregard it.
“Kuzimia: Stop creating FAKE things in my name. These FAKERIES won’t help you! Fellow Kenyans: Always check my TL and verify my Tweets,” Miguna tweeted.
Additionally, our research established that the screenshot used the wrong date format.
Comparing the post with other tweets, we noted that Twitter date format starts with month, day followed by year and not date, month and year.

Lastly, the tweet has a number of grammatical errors such as “worser” and wrong capitalisation of words” which is inconsistent with the lawyer’s other tweet. He also pointed out that inconsistency here.
